The picture is from our Kapatid Winter Summit. Our Kapatid program is an outreach-mentorship program with Filipino-American high school students from all around the Portland-Metro area. We have a Kapatid program every term, and this is the second year that it has been running.
Our upcoming and biggest event of the year is our 6th Annual Pilipino Cultural Night which will be happening on May 21, 2011 at 6:00pm in the Smith Memorial Student Union Ballroom. The theme this year will be ‘Kahapon at Ngayon’ which means Past and Present in Tagalog.
Kaibigan wants to present Pilipino culture of the past and some modern Pilipino culture – varying from clothing to performances.
This year we are proud to bring Dr. Claire Oliveros as our keynote speaker and to have Ruby Ibarra performing.
Food, entertainment, raffle items and much more is in store for those who attend the event.
